Context
I joined iEnterprise as a consultant and took over delivery leadership of a port modernisation programme: an in-house team and two external vendors, about eighteen people, building a 13-module ERP (finance, machinery, inventory, attendance) for a port with 2,500+ employees, plus a Malaysian Customs integration portal to digitise clearance for all inbound and outbound goods.
The constraint
The programme was at risk. Defects were surfacing late and the schedule was slipping, with responsibility split across three organisations and no single owner of the technical conversation between the vendors and the client.
What I did
Surfaced the critical defects and the slippage plainly, took ownership of delivery governance and of all technical communication between the vendors and the client, and renegotiated delivery scope and terms with the outsourcing partners. The client entrusted me with project management of the engagement as a result.
Outcome
Projected cost and timeline cut by ~20%. The 13-module ERP was delivered, digitising operations for 2,500+ employees. The Customs integration portal shipped, digitising clearance for 100% of inbound and outbound goods.
