Context
BonusLink is Malaysia's largest multi-partner coalition loyalty programme: over 4 million members across web, mobile and a platform of serverless AWS microservices. A banking partner wanted two things from that audience: a credit-card acquisition channel and a rebuilt current-account (CASA) onboarding journey.
I owned the relationship end to end, from scoping with the bank's product team through its compliance reviews to production with its technology team. The same year I integrated five coalition partners through secure partner APIs: AmBank, Shell, AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines and Presto.
The constraint
Three organisations had to agree on one flow: the bank's product, compliance and technology teams, and the platform. Every field captured, every consent, every handoff to the bank's systems had to satisfy the bank's compliance reviewers before a single member saw it. Personal data handling in the analytics pipelines was remediated in the same period to strengthen privacy compliance.
What I did
Scoped the channel with the bank, translated compliance requirements into the integration design, and led delivery across the platform services involved. Authentication was consolidated on the way: Google single sign-on for registration, login and account linking, and the WhatsApp OTP verification flow re-architected into a reusable service shared across products.
Outcome
The credit-card channel went live capturing 500+ leads a day. The CASA onboarding journey shipped rebuilt. Five coalition partners were integrated through secure partner APIs. The banking partner in this story is unnamed by design; AmBank is named among the coalition partners because it is on the public record.
